Share Savings Accounts

Share Savings

Membership at UBCCU is represented by our savings account. To be a member in good standing, you must maintain a minimum $5.00 balance in your Savings account. Dividends are paid quarterly.

UBCCU also offers additional savings accounts that you can use for a special purpose. Vacation Club and Escrow Accounts receive the same dividend rate as our Savings Account. Deposits can be made at any time and there is a limit of 6 pre-authorized, automatic, telephone, audio response or web page transfers per month on all Savings accounts.

Your savings are insured up to $250,000 per account by the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the United States Government.

Christmas Club

Christmas Club accounts are available for your holiday spending. There is no minimum deposit required. Dividends are paid annually on October 1. Your Christmas Club balance is automatically transferred to your savings account on October 1.

IMMA - Insured Money Manager Account

Our IMMA Account offers a higher dividend rate. Deposits can be made at any time and up to 6 pre-authorized, automatic, telephone, audio response or web page transfers are allowed per month.

Youth Accounts

UBCCU offers accounts designed specifically for our young members.

Our Moola Moola Club is designed for children birth to age 12. Our CUSucceed Club is for members age 13 to 18. Both accounts offer different activities and saving incentives throughout the year.

Our "Watch Me Grow" Youth Share Certificate account helps our young members ages 0-18 years begin to learn investment flexibility, high earnings and the advantage of a fixed rate on their savings.

Insured Money Manager Accounts

IMMA

Insured Money Manager Accounts (IMMA) earn Money Market Mutual Fund rates with no interest penalty for withdrawal. A minimum balance of $5.00 is required. Interest rate varies by balance and can vary monthly. Dividends are calculated daily, paid monthly. Deposits and withdrawals may be made at any time. There is a limit of 6 pre-authorized, automatic, telephone, audio response or web page transfers per month on all Savings accounts.

Certificate of Deposit (CDs)

Share Certificates

We offer 3 month, 6 month, 12 month (1 year), 18 month, 24 month (2 years), 30 month, 36 month (3 years), 48 month (4 years), and 60 month (5 years) Share Certificates (CD). Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly. These rates may change on a weekly basis, but are fixed for the term of the certificate. A penalty may be imposed for early withdrawal. Interest on certificates compounds and can be paid back to the certificate, posted to a regular savings account, or mailed directly to your home. Minimum deposits on all certificates is $500.

Youth Share Certificates

The "Watch Me Grow" Youth Share Certificate (CD) currently is offered only in a 6 month term. Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly back to the Share account. These rates may change on a weekly basis, but are fixed for the term of the Share Certificate. A penalty may be imposed for early withdrawal. Minimum deposit to open the Youth Share Certificate is $25. Deposits can be added to the Share Certificate in amounts of $1 or more continuously through the term of the certificate.

Individual Retirement Accounts

IRA Accounts

Begin preparing for an important part of your future with a United Bay Community Credit Union Individual Retirement Account. We offer several options to help you make the best plans for your future. Our IRA options include Traditional, ROTH and Coverdell Education Savings Accounts, available in IRA Share accounts or a full range of IRA Share Certificates. IRAs are separately insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA. Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly. Rates are subject to change, but are fixed for the term allotted. A penalty may be imposed for early withdrawal. Minimum deposit on all IRAs is $500.

Payroll Deduction

Payroll Deduction

By signing up for payroll deduction, you can have a portion of your net pay transferred directly to your account with UBCCU. This is a free service that offers a convenient way to establish a regular savings program by setting up automatic transfers to accounts that are with UBCCU. For example, you can set an automatic transfer of $25 from your payroll into a Christmas Club Savings Account or make a payment on your UBCCU loan.

Direct Deposits

Direct Deposits

For your convenience and peace of mind, sign up for direct deposit today. Your payroll, Social Security or other (recurring) checks can be sent directly to your account at UBCCU.

To sign up for direct deposit of your payroll, go to your payroll department with your UBCCU account number and UBCCU's routing number (272476996).

To sign up for direct deposit of your Social Security check, just call 1-800-772-1213 between 7:00AM and 7:00PM EST. You will need your UBCCU account number and UBCCU's routing number (272476996).

Youth Accounts

Moola Moola Club

UBCCU recognizes that good financial habits start at an early age. Our Moola Moola Club is for children from birth through age 12. The goal of the Moola Moola Club is to teach that saving money can be fun and rewarding. Special incentives and events are offered throughout the year.

There is no fee to be a member of the Moola Moola Club program. A child must be 12 years of age or younger, be eligible for credit union membership and maintain a $5.00 balance in their regular share account.

When a child reaches age 13, they are automatically transferred into the CU Succeed program.

CU Succeed

CU Succeed targets our members age 13 through 18. CU Succeed members have access to the Claim Your Youth web site designed especially for them.

There is no fee to be a member of the CU Succeed program. A child must be 13 years of age or older, be eligible for credit union membership and maintain a $5.00 balance in their regular share account.

"Watch Me Grow" Youth Share Certificate

Build your savings by adding to your share certificate a little at a time.

Criteria to Open Account:
  • Youth's name is primary on account
  • Must maintain $5 in primary share account
  • Minimum deposit to open Share Certificate is $25
  • Share Certificate must be in youth's name as primary
  • Share Certificate in youth's Social Security number
  • Deposits can be added to the Share Certificate in amounts of $1 or more
Terms:
  • 6 month Share Certificate
  • Rate is subject to change after 6 month term - will renew at current 6 month term
  • Penalty for early withdrawal
  • Dividends are deposited into the Share account each month

The Youth Share Certificate will renew like a normal Share Certificate until the 1st maturity after the member turns 18 years of age. At that maturity if the balance (after the dividend) is greater than or equals $500, the Share Certificate will convert to a normal 6 month Share Certificate; - if the balance (after the dividend) is less than $500, the Share Certificate will not renew and the funds will be transferred to the Share 00 account.

United Bay Community Credit Union Youth Share Certificate earns a competitive yield and is insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union administration, (NCUA) a U.S. Government Agency.
